Automatic System Detection

IntelliView Technologies Inc. is a provider of hardware and software solutions for incorporating real time behaviour analysis into camera systems. Under the MITACS ACCELERATE internship program, they investigated better or alternative ways to use Automatic System Detection (ASD) for identifying specified objects in a video processing feed. In collaboration with other researchers in the company, the MITACS ACCELERATE intern gathered ideas on ways to modify ASD and provided input into which proposals were feasible. From this information, the electrical and computer engineering intern suggested improvements and made modifications to the processing tools to advance the product. The intern then carried out trials of the improved product using matrix tools to test out data sets before implementation of the changes. An unconventional solution was achieved which was different from the standard manner of identifying objects in video processing feeds. The MITACS ACCELERATE internship program was an ideal resource for a small start-up company such as IntelliView Technologies Inc. to acquire highly skilled talent on an interim basis with limited financial commitment.
